Resume Applier (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by Founder Manage LLC (WY). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Resume Applier Chrome extension and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

Resume Applier is built with a local-first architecture. Your resume data, personal information, and application history are stored locally in your browser — not on our servers.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

Resume content: Uploaded resumes (PDF/DOCX) are parsed and stored locally in your browser using Chrome’s Storage API with AES-256 encryption
Personal details: Name, email, phone number, and other contact information you enter for auto-filling job applications — stored locally
Account information: If you create an account, we store your email address and authentication tokens for login purposes
Application history: Records of jobs you’ve applied to, including company name, role, date, and tailored resume version — stored locally

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Basic analytics: Chrome Web Store install/uninstall counts (provided by Google, not by us)
Error reports: If the extension encounters an error, a de-identified error message may be sent to help us fix bugs (no personal data included)

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

Browsing history or activity outside job pages
Passwords or financial information
Social media data
Data from other browser tabs or extensions
Keystrokes or screen recordings
Location data

3. How We Use Information

Resume tailoring: Your resume text and job descriptions are sent to AI model endpoints to generate tailored resumes. This data is processed in-memory and not stored server-side
Form auto-filling: Your personal details are read from local storage to fill application forms on job sites
Account authentication: Email and tokens are used solely for login and session management
Service improvement: Aggregated, de-identified usage patterns help us improve the extension

4. AI Processing

When you tailor a resume, the following data is sent to our AI backend (or your own API key if configured):

Your resume text
The job description text

This data is processed to generate the tailored resume and is not stored on our servers after processing. If you bring your own API key, data is sent directly to your chosen provider (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) under their privacy policy.

5. Data Storage and Security

All resume data and personal information is stored locally in your browser using Chrome’s Storage API
Data is encrypted with AES-256 before storage
API keys are encrypted locally and never transmitted to our servers
No central database of user resumes exists — there is nothing to breach
HTTPS is used for all network communications

We do not sell, share, rent, or trade your personal information with third parties. Specifically:

No data sharing with advertisers or data brokers
No data sharing with recruiters or employers
No data used for training AI models
No tracking pixels, fingerprinting, or cross-site tracking

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Local data: Persists until you delete it or uninstall the extension. No automatic expiration
Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted upon request
Delete all data: Use the “Delete All Data” button in extension settings for immediate, permanent deletion
Uninstall: Removing the extension deletes all locally stored data
Data portability: Export all your data as JSON at any time from extension settings

8. Your Rights

Since data is stored locally on your device, you inherently have control over your personal data. You may:

Access: View all stored data in extension settings
Rectify: Edit any stored information directly
Delete: Remove all data with one click
Port: Export data as JSON
Object: Disable any optional data processing in settings

8.2 CCPA Rights (California Users)

We do not sell personal information
We do not share data for cross-context behavioral advertising
You can delete all data at any time
You will not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights

9. Chrome Web Store Compliance

Resume Applier complies with all Chrome Web Store policies including:

Limited use policy for user data
Permission justification requirements
Content Security Policy requirements
Our extension undergoes Google’s review process before each update

10. Cookies

The Resume Applier extension does not use cookies. The resumeapplier.com website uses essential cookies for functionality and optional analytics cookies with your consent.

11. Children’s Privacy

Resume Applier is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
